About Us
With a priority on vocals and continuously rotating leadership, this Road Soda Pop provides a soundtrack full of unique and inspired arrangements. A significant distinction for this group is their ability to regularly include a rotation of special theme and tribute sets. Comprised of players from prominent acts like The LateShift, Blotto, and Johnny Rabb, Road Soda Pop is well-versed in the beats the scene craves for a good time.
Their musical experiences allow for a deep catalog which is unified under their own stylistic approach. Road Soda Pop’s song-list includes tunes from Billy Joel, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Eagles, Matchbox 20, Third Eye Blind, Tom Petty, Grateful Dead, The Rolling Stones, and many other favorites.

Scotty Somerville
Showcasing a wide range of multi-instrumentalist capabilities, Scott supplies the group with vocals, acoustic guitar, keyboard and percussion. With lengthy experience as lead singer and keyboard player for The LateShift, Scott has a proven knack for melody and range. Integrated with a charismatic charm, he is always sure to keep an audience engaged. Outside the stage and studio, Scott serves the music industry as a graphic designer providing album artwork, logo design and concert posters for both local, regional and national touring acts.

Mike Davies
With years of experience in both performing and recording, Mike has been formally mastering his craft playing the guitar since he was a child. As the guitarist of the prominent Albany group “The LateShift”, he lives up to his reputation as a vivacious and exuberant entertainer. Coupled with that is his education as a music student at both SUNY Oswego and the University at Albany, where he continued to master his uncanny ability to serve up jaw-dropping melodic leads with ease.

Jacob Lester
Being raised by a Johnny Cash and June Carter-esque power couple, one would expect nothing short of a musical prodigy. Unfortunately for our bass player, Jacob’s parents had no musical talent to offer. Yet undeterred, and overwhelmed with a passion for music, he picked up playing guitar at age 12, despite being plagued by the constant struggle of being a left-handed musician. With years of experience of performing and recording as bassist of The LateShift, Jacob finds that crafting a set list is not only a skill, but an art.

Steven Clyde
Clyde boasts an extensive musical career dating back to the 70s. Clyde helped establish iconic Albany acts like The Star Spangled Washboard Band, Johnny Rabb and the Jailhouse Rockers, The Lustre Kings, and Ramblin Jug Stompers. He's toured with Richie Havens, Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen, The Neanderthals (featuring Eddie Angel of Los Straitjackets), and Blotto. In addition to studio credits for Johnny Rabb, Ramblin Jug Stompers, and Albany's Rumdummies, Clyde has original music credits that include The Lustre Kings and the 2019 documentary film "More Than Words: the Photography of Bob Paley".
